Events on public conservation land (A message from the Department of Conservation (DOC))

Event professionals will be aware that all events on public conservation land require a concession from DOC. Make sure you are familiar with the conditions in your contract and abide by them.

Other activities that can occur during, or as part of, an event also require a concession.  This might include aircraft use, commercial filming and other commercial activities. All drone use on conservation land requires a permit, for both commercial and recreational purposes (including by spectators at events). Make sure you check that you have concessions for all activities taking place at your event.
