Rachael Saunders - AUCKLAND

National Events and Sponsorships Manager, MinterEllisonRuddWatts

As the National Events and Sponsorships Manager for MinterEllisonRuddWatts, Rachael is responsible for the creation and implementation of the firm’s events strategy and programme throughout the country. During her career, she has held a number of event co-ordination and account manager roles for venues and event agencies in Auckland and London.

Business Development Manager - Impact Events, H3 Group

As Business Development Manager for Event Facilities in Hamilton, Gary secures business for Claudelands Arena, Claudelands Conference Exhibition Centre, Waikato Stadium, Seddon Park, Founders and Clarence Street Theatres.

Steve Giles

Steve Giles - TAUPO

District Events Manager, Taupo City Council

As the District Events Manager for Taupo District Council, Steve oversees a small team responsible for retaining and attracting industry leading events to the Great Lake Taupo District.

“Ultimately for us as a team, it’s about empowering our community to develop and run their own events. In doing so ownership stays local and the event ingrains itself within the fabric of our community.” Says Steve.

“I’m very proud of what we achieve. I love the events industry and consider myself very lucky to hold the role I do. I also really enjoy the opportunity to share ideas and hear the stories of my colleagues from around the country.

“I see the regional rep role as an opportunity to hear more about our industry nationally, share ideas, further develop our own skill sets and that of the next generation of event organisers.”

Chade Julie - TARANAKI

Community Development Manager, Stratford District Council

As the Community Development Manager, it’s Chade's role to look for opportunities and ways to engage the community on the things that matter most to them. Events are a great way to do this as it provides a vehicle to build vibrancy, a connected community as well as local and regional capability. Chade sees the Regional Rep role as another opportunity to do this alongside the rest of his colleagues in Taranaki.

Prior to starting with Stratford District Council, Chade had the opportunity to work for Auckland Council and ATEED (Auckland Unlimited) within the Event Facilitation and Major Event Facilitation teams.

Tanya Jackson - HAWKE'S BAY

Events Manager, Hastings District Council

As the Events Manager for Hastings District Council, Tanya is responsible for attracting events to the Hastings District and supporting ongoing annual events that help the community feel connected and proud to live, work and play in Hastings.

Tanya is passionate about events and a key driver for her role is to make it easy for event organisers and showcase what the stunning region of Hawke’s Bay has to offer.

Tanya has an extensive events background in both the corporate and governance sectors having held various event and marketing roles, including a North Island events role for a national company.

This has given her a great understanding of the industry to ensure events are delivered to the highest standard, whilst maximising key marketing opportunities.

She sees the regional representative role as a valuable addition to her skill-set in providing high-quality events for the region.

Jennifer Beatty

Jen Beatty - CHRISTCHURCH

Event Development Manager, ChristchurchNZ

Prior to relocating back to New Zealand Jennifer worked at Sony Australia in Sydney in the role of Experiential and Sponsorship Specialist, driving brand awareness and leverage of campaigns within a plethora of retail and experiential environments.

Jen managed and the implementation of the Sony activations for FIFA World Cup live site in Sydney, The FIFA World Cup campaigns in 2010 and 2014, multiple beach and skate instalments with Billabong, including the Australian Open of Surfing and World Juniors.

Jennifer is passionate about the events industry in Christchurch and is looking forward to developing and bringing new events into the recovering city to reunite the community and provide confidence for international travellers to spend time in the city.

Tammy Jackman

Tammy Jackman - DUNEDIN

Events Special Projects Co-ordinator, Dunedin City Council

A passion for events and tenacious attention to detail drew Tammy to events over 15 years ago.

In her event management career, Tammy has covered events from charitable through to major sporting events. Previous roles include contracting to Sport Otago as the Games Operations Manager for the 2013 Special Olympics NZ National Summer Games.

Tammy's role at the DCC is aligned with the co-ordination of events having strategic significance to Dunedin. The role works with stakeholders to ensure maximum benefit is achieved for the city. The role of Events Special Projects Coordinator also provides advice and support to the events industry.
