Calista Ferreira

Calista Ferreira - AUCKLAND

Events and Projects Manager, Brand and Marketing Services Division, AUT

Having worked at AUT for over a decade, Calista's produced, planned and managed a variety of high profile events and projects, including the Vice-Chancellor’s Dinner, domestic and international alumni events (recently in Vietnam) as well as the main events project management for AUT LIVE (The Most Open Day) which gets up to 10,000 visitors through all of our AUT campuses and facilitating over 800 volunteers for this day alone – to name a few.

During her career Calista has also worked as an external relations manager in The Hague, The Netherlands where she organised and supported a number of high-profiled government events alongside the American Embassy.

Business Development Manager - Impact Events, H3 Group

As Business Development Manager for Event Facilities in Hamilton, Gary secures business for Claudelands Arena, Claudelands Conference Exhibition Centre, Waikato Stadium, Seddon Park, Founders and Clarence Street Theatres.

Jenna Quay

Jenna Quay - BAY OF PLENTY

Acting Manager: City Events, Tauranga City Council

With extensive experience in the events industry, Jenna’s previous roles include managing the Event Delivery team at Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development Ltd (ATEED), where she oversaw the operational success of the city’s major events. Highlights in Jenna’s career are working on the Rugby World Cup 2011 and the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Jenna is passionate about further developing the events industry in her region, and with her experience in event facilitation and delivery, relationship and stakeholder management and health and safety, it’s great to have her assisting the industry in this role.

Steve Giles

Steve Giles - TAUPO

District Events Manager, Taupo City Council

As the District Events Manager for Taupo District Council, Steve oversees a small team responsible for retaining and attracting industry leading events to the Great Lake Taupo District.

“Ultimately for us as a team, it’s about empowering our community to develop and run their own events. In doing so ownership stays local and the event ingrains itself within the fabric of our community.” Says Steve.

“I’m very proud of what we achieve. I love the events industry and consider myself very lucky to hold the role I do. I also really enjoy the opportunity to share ideas and hear the stories of my colleagues from around the country.

“I see the regional rep role as an opportunity to hear more about our industry nationally, share ideas, further develop our own skill sets and that of the next generation of event organisers.”

Daz Martin


Co-founder and Creative Director, Dichotomy Limited

Over the last sixteen years, Daz has planned and delivered a wide range of events from private high-end dinners to large public festivals, with work experience across events and brand agencies, tertiary institutions and arts and community trusts.

Daz returned to New Zealand from London in March 2019, where he was leading the Student Engagement team at the student union for Imperial College London, as well as freelancing as an event manager for both high-end private functions and luxury brand events. Now settled back into New Zealand, Daz has co-founded Dichotomy, a live engagement agency – where as Creative Director he is leading event owners through a structured creative process to develop successful new event projects (or refresh and scale existing projects), ensuring they have the plans in place to achieve their strategic goals.

Trina Edwards

Trina Edwards - WELLINGTON

Event & Marketing Specialist, Tourism Industry Aotearoa

Currently working on TRENZ, New Zealand’s biggest annual business-to-business travel and trade event, Trina has varied events experience spanning the tourism, performing arts, social enterprise, and charities sectors.

Her passions are volunteerism and sustainability and a lot of her focus is on driving the events sector to be more sustainable through best practice.

Jennifer Beatty


Event Development Manager, ChristchurchNZ

Prior to relocating back to New Zealand Jennifer worked at Sony Australia in Sydney in the role of Experiential and Sponsorship Specialist, driving brand awareness and leverage of campaigns within a plethora of retail and experiential environments.

Jen managed and the implementation of the Sony activations for FIFA World Cup live site in Sydney, The FIFA World Cup campaigns in 2010 and 2014, multiple beach and skate instalments with Billabong, including the Australian Open of Surfing and World Juniors.

Jennifer is passionate about the events industry in Christchurch and is looking forward to developing and bringing new events into the recovering city to reunite the community and provide confidence for international travellers to spend time in the city.

Tammy Jackman

Tammy Jackman - DUNEDIN

Events Special Projects Co-ordinator, Dunedin City Council

A passion for events and tenacious attention to detail drew Tammy to events over 15 years ago.

In her event management career, Tammy has covered events from charitable through to major sporting events. Previous roles include contracting to Sport Otago as the Games Operations Manager for the 2013 Special Olympics NZ National Summer Games.

Tammy's role at the DCC is aligned with the co-ordination of events having strategic significance to Dunedin. The role works with stakeholders to ensure maximum benefit is achieved for the city. The role of Events Special Projects Coordinator also provides advice and support to the events industry.
