Long weekend events, play your part!
New Zealanders will be travelling far and wide this long weekend, if you're running an event you have a role to play in keeping your attendees, crew and New Zealand safe.
As a business, events need to know their obligations in regard to contact tracing, further to this however, the Events Sector Voluntary Code provides a more comprehensive approach which we strongly encourage event operators to adopt until New Zealand is no longer under the Alert Level system.
Use the Events Sector Voluntary Code
The Event Sector Voluntary Code provides guidance to all aspects of the event sector – whether organisers, promoters, suppliers, venues, or Governing bodies – to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission at events, and to support the Ministry of Health to contact trace if an outbreak of COVID-19 were to occur.
You can view the latest version of the code on this page, which includes a section specific to the Event Sector Voluntary Code. There is also some collateral which you can use to:
- Show that your organisation is committed to the Event Sector Voluntary Code; and
- Educate attendees on what behaviours they are encouraged to follow.
