COVID-19 INDUSTRY UPDATE: NZ to remain at the Red setting

04 April 2022

As per the Prime Minister's announcement this afternoon, there is no change to the settings of the COVID Protection Framework and all of New Zealand will remain at the Red setting. The next review of the settings has been brought forward to next Thursday 14 April.

Ministry for Culture & Heritage webinar recording available

Last Friday, Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture & Heritage and MBIE hosted a webinar: Traffic light changes: Life under Red, Orange and Green for the arts, culture and heritage sectors. The webinar addressed the impact of the changes on Manatū Taonga support schemes, including the Arts and Culture Event Support Scheme.

A recording of the webinar will be provided on the MCH website early this week once it has been captioned. In the meantime, please find attached the MBIE slides that are a useful summary of the changes on events (as of Friday 1 April).

Auckland Unlimited funding open

Auckland Unlimited’s National Programme funding round is now open. The National Programme is one of three programmes through which Auckland Unlimited will be distributing Auckland’s Regional Events Fund. Funding applications are open until 30 April 2022 for events that meet the criteria set out in the funding guidelines.

Evaluation of Government Support for Tourism

The MBIE Tourism Policy team has commissioned Angus & Associates to undertake a confidential survey about the impact and outcomes of the Government tourism support packages created in 2020 and 2021.
