Graham has extensive experience in events and sponsorship, having held domestic and international leadership roles across both the private and public sectors for ATEED, Emirates Airline, ASB Bank and Tourism Auckland. In his current role, he and his team use business events and trade missions as tools to help grow companies internationally for the good of New Zealand.
Anna Hiatt
Director, Pure Chaos
Anna has extensive event management & sponsorship experience at a senior level predominantly across major international sports events held in New Zealand. Anna is the director of Pure Chaos Ltd and contracts to various events. Anna has an enterprising innovative approach to life and business strategy coupled with a passion for event management particularly around relationship/ stakeholder management. She has been a NZEA board member since 2016.
Ashley Cassin
Director, Left Coast Events
Ashley joined the NZEA Board in 2019 after three years as a Regional Rep. Currently studying an MBA, Ashley also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Management with an endorsement in Events Management. Ashley was a finalist in the Emerging Event Professional of the Year category in 2017 for his work with the Hokitika Wildfoods Festival. With a background in sporting events Ashley also enjoys competing/completing endurance events around New Zealand, most recently Godzone in Canterbury.
Bevan Tydda
Onfield Solutions Ltd
Bevan had more than 10 years’ experience in corporate finance roles before moving into events. His first event role was the small matter of managing the budget and the procurement function for Rugby World Cup 2011. At the conclusion of RWC2011 Bevan setup Onfield Solutions with a view to providing event organisers with corporate and business support and services. Utilising his corporate experience, Bevan has delivered a significant number of projects, ranging from strategic planning, business planning, feasibility studies, funding applications and bid work through to post event reporting and evaluation. Bevan joined the NZEA Board in May 2019, had his second child in Jan 2019 and hasn’t slept since.
Claire Webber
Director, Event Solutions Ltd
After a decade working in the conference and event industry, Claire started Event Solutions NZ in 2007. Event Solutions NZ works with a suite of online, onsite and barcode scanning event technology solutions. With both international and national clients including corporates, associations, event owners, travel/incentive companies and government agencies and Claire provides registration and ticketing solutions, onsite name tag printing and barcode scanning solutions. Claire joined the NZEA Board in 2017.

JT looks after Events and Markets Networks for PwC NZ. JT is a strategy-focused, relationship-driven innovator in the events space. Experienced across private and public sector, government, corporate and community organisations, JT has a stellar record building relationships, awareness, and achieving targets through end-to-end planning, management and execution of all-scale events, marketing, sponsorship and partnership initiatives.
Kevin Murphy
Events Manager, Napier City Council
Kevin has over 20 years' experience in the events industry, currently Event Manager for Napier City he has been involved in various Hawkes Bay events over the years managed HB Blues Brews & BBQ festival for 12 years. Previous roles have included being Commercial Manager for Sport Hawke's Bay and has had a strong relationship with Hawke's Bay Tourism over the years. Kevin has a passion for music and he is involved with a trust that has recently established the www.hbmusichub.co.nz to showcase Hawke's Bay artists. His current role with Napier City includes overseeing the event fund and developing new opportunities for the city to host as well as supporting / marketing over 30 local events annually.
Loren Heaphy
General Manager Destination and Attraction, ChristchurchNZ
Loren is tasked with enhancing and exploring the visitor experience in Ōtautahi Christchurch through her leadership of the ChristchurchNZ Convention Bureau, the Canterbury Film Office, and International Education teams. She also oversees major events and tourism, destination management and industry liason. Loren has extensive experience in senior tourism roles, including with Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED), Ngati Whatua Orakei and Nelson Tasman Tourism.
